Gardaí have arrested and charged a man in his 40s in connection with a robbery at a retail premises in Summerhill North, Cork City on Tuesday, 19th November 2024.

The incident occurred shortly after 12 noon when a man entered the store and threatened staff with a knife before making off with a sum of cash.

In response to the incident, detective Gardaí from Watercourse Road arrested a man in his 40s. He was subsequently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Cork City and has since been charged. He is scheduled to appear before Cork District Court this morning, Wednesday, 20th November 2024.
