Cork County Council have advised that the M8 at Fermoy will close the Blackwater Viaduct in both directions for all traffic during the Red Weather Warning.

It is currently envisaged to start closing the Motorway between Junction 14 and Junction 15 from 9PM tonight. (or any time sooner if weather circumstances dictate)

Southbound diversion via the R639 through Fermoy town, coming off at Junction 14 and back on at Junction 15 (or further south). Northbound diversion from Junction 15 to Junction 14 (R639) through Fermoy town.

The route will re-open as soon as circumstances are safe to do so.
