Cork’s senior hurling team has secured their place in the All-Ireland Championship Final after a decisive victory over Dublin, sparking city-wide celebrations and plans for a massive free viewing event at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

The Rebels’ triumph has set Cork alight with anticipation for what promises to be a thrilling final showdown. Lord Mayor Fergal Dennehy was quick to congratulate the team on their outstanding performance, calling on the entire county to rally behind their heroes.

Cllr. Fergal Dennehy, Lord Mayor of Cork:

“We are so proud of our Cork hurlers and the hard work they’ve put in to take us back to an All-Ireland Final for what will no doubt be a thrilling match. I know the people of Cork will back their team to the hilt, as they always do. Let’s celebrate our heroes and show our support: hang up your flags and banners, light up your businesses and buildings and show your Rebel colours. Corcaigh abú!”

For fans unable to make the journey to Dublin for the final, Cork City Council and Cork GAA have announced plans for a spectacular “Rebel’s Fanzone” at the iconic SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday 20 July. The free, family-friendly event will allow supporters to experience the atmosphere of an All-Ireland Final from the spiritual home of Cork GAA.

The fanzone promises to be accessible to all, ensuring that every Cork supporter can be part of this historic moment regardless of their circumstances. With the match being broadcast live at the venue, fans will have the perfect opportunity to roar on their team alongside thousands of fellow Rebels.

Cork City Council confirmed that full details of the fanzone event, including how to secure tickets for the free event, will be announced on Monday 14 July. Given the excitement already building across the county, supporters are advised to watch for updates to avoid disappointment.

This year’s fanzone looks set to be spectacular, with the entire city expected to don the red and white for the occasion.
