Expressway has announced additional Cork to Dublin bus services for the All Ireland Hurling Final on Sunday, 20 July 2025, providing hurling fans with an alternative travel option to complement the regular Bus Éireann route.
The commercial bus operator will run a dedicated return service from Cork Bus Station at Parnell Place to Dublin’s Busáras, specifically timed for match-goers heading to the big game.
The special service will depart Cork at 8am, arriving in Dublin at approximately 11am, giving supporters plenty of time to reach Croke Park before throw-in. The return journey will leave Dublin at 8pm, getting fans back to Cork by around 11pm.
Tickets for the service start from €30 and can be purchased through expressway.ie. This represents additional capacity beyond the regular public service obligation route 245x operated by Bus Éireann.
Passengers planning to use the standard 245x service should note that no extra capacity has been added to that route for match day. Timetable information for the regular service remains available on buseireann.ie/timetables.
Expressway operates as Bus Éireann’s commercial arm, running services on a purely commercial basis without state funding. The additional service reflects expected high demand from Cork supporters travelling to support their county in the hurling championship decider.
Early booking is recommended given the likely popularity of the service among Cork hurling fans making the journey to the capital.
