ESB Networks is working to restore electricity supply to over 500 customers in Cork’s Togher area following a fault reported this evening.
The power outage, affecting 540 customers, was reported at 22:29 today and ESB Networks estimates power will be restored by 23:30. The fault has impacted homes and businesses across the Togher area on Cork’s southside.
ESB Networks spokesperson:
“We apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible.”
The utility company has not yet disclosed the specific cause of the fault but engineers are on site working to restore supply to the affected area. Customers can track updates on the ESB Networks website or by calling their customer helpline.
Togher residents are advised to check on elderly neighbours and ensure mobile devices are charged whilst power remains off. Those with medical equipment dependent on electricity should contact emergency services if required.
The outage comes during a busy Saturday evening in the area, which is home to several local businesses and residential estates including parts of Togher Road and surrounding streets.
ESB Networks continues to provide regular updates to affected customers through their fault tracking system.
