Irish rugby sensation Robbie Henshaw and the adorable James Garrahan, aged four, revved up the engines alongside Cannonball founder Alan Bannon to announce an exhilarating partnership. The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation has been declared the official charity partner for Cannonball 2023, a sizzling supercar spectacle that is all set to thrill from September 15th to 17th.

Gearing Up for a Spectacular Journey

Cannonball 2023, Europe’s largest organised road trip, is poised to amaze with the best cars on the planet, ranging from the awe-striking power of Ferrari, Lamborghini, and McLaren to the refined grace of Porsche, Aston Martin, and Maserati. Cork will be the host to a fuel stop at Circle K Fermoy at 12 noon on Sunday, September 17th, followed by a lunch stop at Fota Island Resort in Little Island from 1 pm to approximately 2.30 pm.

Fuelled by milesPLUS from Circle K, Cannonball has an impressive history of raising over €1,538,602 for Irish charities. It’s more than just a road trip; it’s a widely anticipated free family event, renowned for its electrifying atmosphere in host towns all over Ireland.

The Heart Behind the Horsepower

This year, the official charity of Cannonball is The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, an organization devoted to funding and delivering in-home nursing care, respite support, and end-of-life care for children aged up to six years with severe and life-limiting medical conditions.

Alie Sheridan, Head of Fundraising at the foundation, expressed gratitude, stating that the support and enthusiasm around Cannonball 2023 will “raise vital funds and awareness for Jack and Jill, at a time when the demand for our service is higher than ever.” This support benefits 216 families along the Cannonball 7 county route, offering them a sense of community and reminding them that they are not alone in their care journey.

More Than Just Cars

Cannonball offers an entire festival atmosphere, teeming with Brazilian dancers, giant screens, live music, DJs, and a parade of colorful characters ranging from superheroes to movie icons. Fans are also invited to join in the fun with fancy dress competitions, adding to the lively ambiance of the event.

Founded by Kildare businessman Alan Bannon, Cannonball benefits host towns to the tune of an estimated €2,567,000 per year. With Apache Pizza as the Tour Sponsor and other partners including Karl Goodwin Motors, AB Signs, HONE Energy, and Majestic Ireland Road Trips, the 2023 edition promises to be the most exciting yet.
