The N40 Goats, a group that has become well-known to many in the area, are no longer causing antics along the N40 Eastbound near the new Vernon Mount Bridge. This peculiar story began in April when we first reported on these goats, often seen freely roaming on the road’s verges. Interestingly, people think that they had previously paid a visit to Ballybeg, where our team had also reported (quite a few times) on loose goats. Reports which seemed to stop when the N40 Goats appeared.
On October 2nd, the N40 Goats were successfully captured by William Walsh, a Goat Herder from “Billys Rent a Goat.”

Currently, the goats are under the care of the CSPCA (Cork Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). According to the organisation, the goats are in good health and are awaiting veterinary assessment. Once this evaluation is completed, they will be re-homed.
In a recent social media post, the CSPCA shared:
“Some of you might recognize this gang. They are the infamous N40 goats. All four are doing well, and they will soon be heading to their new homes once their veterinary work is complete.”
