The doors of Coachford Garda Station swung open again this morning, Friday 13 June 2025, marking the end of a comprehensive 12-month refurbishment that has transformed the local police facility into a modern, accessible community hub.
The station’s public office will welcome residents daily between 10am and 1pm, with two Gardaí and a Sergeant returning to serve the Coachford area. The timing couldn’t be better for a community that has been without its local station throughout the extensive renovation period.
The makeover has delivered significant improvements for accessibility and sustainability. The building is now fully wheelchair accessible, while a new loop system has been installed to assist people with hearing impairments. The station has also achieved an A-rated energy efficiency standard, reflecting modern environmental standards.
These upgrades form part of An Garda Síochána’s broader Modernisation and Renewal Programme, designed to ensure the force can meet current and future policing challenges whilst providing Gardaí with the tools they need to deliver effective community policing.
For non-emergency matters, residents can contact Coachford Garda Station on 021 7334002 during opening hours. In emergencies, always dial 999 or 112.
The reopening represents a significant investment in local policing infrastructure, ensuring Coachford residents have access to modern, accessible police services right in their community.
