Local motorcycle enthusiasts are gearing up to make some noise for a worthy cause this weekend, as Knight Riders MCC prepares to host a charity rock night that promises to shake the rafters whilst raising vital funds for dementia support services.
The Cork-based motorcycle club, founded in 2023 Knight Riders MCC (@knightridersmcc), will take over The Castle Glanmire in Riverstown this Saturday, 7th June, transforming the popular live music venue into a fundraising powerhouse The Castle Glanmire Ring of Cork for an evening dedicated to community spirit and rock music.
The event carries deep personal significance for the club, having been organised in memory of Nelly Murphy, the beloved grandmother of the club’s president who passed away from dementia just before Christmas. Her memory will undoubtedly add an extra layer of meaning to the evening’s festivities, as bikers and music lovers come together to support others facing similar challenges.
All proceeds from the night will benefit the North Cork Dementia Alliance, a community dementia project led by the HSE North Cork Occupational Therapy Service that has been supporting families affected by dementia since 2013 Ncdementiaalliance. The evening promises live rock music and raffles, with doors opening at 7:00 PM and donations accepted at entry. The Castle Glanmire, described as one of Cork’s premier live music venues Home – The Castle Glanmire, along with its adjoining space The Yard at the Castle, will provide the perfect backdrop for what organisers hope will be a memorable night of music and community support.
