Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange wind and rainfall warning for Cork that is in effect from 9 p.m. on Friday 18 August until 3 a.m. on Saturday 19 August 2023.
Winds are expected to be severe and as a result Cork City Council asks that you please take the following measures:
- Please secure loose items such as wheelie bins, garden furniture, trampolines etc.
- Don’t make any unnecessary journeys during that time.
- We are preparing to address any damage that might result from the severe winds. Our emergency crews are on standby.
- We are also asking that all construction sites are made secure in advance of high winds, including plant, materials, and fencing.
If you must travel during this period, road users are asked to proceed with caution, as there may be spot flooding or fallen debris on roads.
