Cork’s Drimoleague Singing Festival Receives €5,000 in Government Funding

The Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media has announced a funding allocation of €69,945 to support 16 small-scale local festivals and summer schools across Ireland in 2024. Among the recipients, Cork’s Drimoleague Singing Festival has been awarded the maximum grant of €5,000.

This funding is part of a broader initiative to support cultural events that may not qualify for larger-scale funding programmes. The Drimoleague Singing Festival, known for showcasing the best of national and international singing talent, will utilise this grant to enhance its programme of concerts, intimate performances, workshops, and a singing competition.

Minister Martin emphasised the importance of such festivals, stating:

“Culture and arts add hugely to our lives and to our community and reminds us of our shared values, traditions, and the importance of coming together as a collective whole.”

This financial boost will allow the Drimoleague Singing Festival to continue its mission of celebrating and promoting the rich musical traditions of Cork and beyond.
