Doneraile Art Festival Returns This Week with Four Days of Creative Fun

Art enthusiasts across Cork have something special to look forward to this week as the much-anticipated Doneraile Art Festival makes its return to the picturesque North Cork town.

Running from Thursday 26 June through Sunday 29 June, the festival promises four days packed with creative workshops, demonstrations, music and artistic activities suitable for all ages. The Office of Public Works has organised an impressive programme that transforms the historic Doneraile Court and its surroundings into a vibrant cultural hub.

The festival kicks off on Thursday with an eclectic mix of workshops including willow weaving, storytelling and life drawing. Weekend visitors can dive into yoga sessions, flower arranging, drumming circles and painting workshops, ensuring there’s something to spark everyone’s creative spirit.

The highlight of the weekend will be the Plein air painting competition in Doneraile, where artists will capture the natural beauty of the area on canvas. The competition concludes with prize giving and musical performances, creating a perfect finale to the festival.

Kevin “Boxer” Moran TD, Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works, said:

“I am delighted to announce the return of ‘Doneraile Art Fest’. The action packed programme has something for everyone to enjoy, from workshops to yoga to music. The festival also provides a wonderful opportunity to explore Doneraile and all that is on offer across the weekend.”

The festival offers an excellent opportunity for families to explore one of Cork’s most beautiful locations while engaging in hands-on creative activities. Doneraile Court’s stunning gardens and historic setting provide an inspiring backdrop for artistic endeavours.

Those interested in attending can find the full programme and book tickets through Eventbrite. With the festival beginning in just two days, early booking is recommended to secure places in the most popular workshops.
