Expressway announces special services from Cork to Electric Picnic


Bus Éireann, Ireland’s national bus company, is pleased to announce special services for people travelling from Cork attending Electric Picnic on Friday, 1 September 2023. With the anticipation building and the countdown on, Expressway will operate special Electric Picnic services from Cork Bus Station direct to Stradbally, Co. Laois.

On Friday September 1, services will depart from Cork Bus Station to Stradbally at 07:30. On Monday 4 Septembera return service from Stradbally to Cork Bus Station will depart at 12:00.

A single bus ticket will cost €30 with a return bus ticket costing €45. Expressway will also be operating special services from Galway, Dublin and Limerick. Tickets can be purchased from each location or directly on the Expressway website.

“Electric Picnic is an extremely popular festival with over 70,000 people expected to attend each day. We are excited to be bringing people from Cork, Galway, Dublin and Limerick to this highly anticipated festival and want to make sure their journey is a safe and pleasant trip. We would advise customers to plan their journey ahead and book in advance at www.expressway.ie to avoid disappointment,” said Alan Brennan, Senior Manager, Business Development, Bus Éireann.

Bus times for this festival are subject to change and people should check out www.expressway in advance of travel. Customers should also note that Bus Éireann will have a ticket van at Portlaoise and Portarlington rail stations for customers travelling to Stradbally. A single bus ticket costs €6 and a return bus ticket is €12.
