Cork GAA supporters unable to secure tickets for Sunday’s All-Ireland Hurling Championship final will have the chance to experience the atmosphere at home, as the popular Rebels’ Fanzone returns to SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on 20 July.
The free, family-friendly event will broadcast the highly anticipated clash between Cork and Tipperary on big screens, complete with entertainment before and after the match. With Pat Ryan’s team seeking to bring the Liam MacCarthy Cup back to Leeside, organisers are promising an electric atmosphere at the home of Cork GAA.
Cork has transformed into a sea of red and white in recent weeks, building towards what many hope will be a historic day for the Rebels. The fanzone offers supporters of all ages an opportunity to come together and back their county, particularly given the unprecedented demand for final tickets at Croke Park.
Brian Geaney, Deputy Chief Executive of Cork City Council, said:
“Cork has been turned into a sea of red and white in recent weeks. There’s huge excitement building across Cork and we’re hoping for an electric atmosphere at this free, family-friendly event at the home of Cork GAA.”
Pat Horgan, Chairperson of Cork GAA, added:
“Once again, demand for final tickets for the All-Ireland final is unprecedented, and unfortunately not everyone will be able to attend Croke Park next Sunday. With support of Cork City Council, we are delighted to bring back the Rebels’ Fanzone, which will allow supporters of all ages an opportunity to come together, and support an incredible team from right across the county.”
Ticket Information
Free tickets will be available from 7:30am on Thursday, 17 July, through three channels: Cork GAA’s website (gaacork.ie), Cork City Council’s website (corkcity.ie), and Eventmaster.ie. Each person can request a maximum of five tickets, though capacity is limited.
Organisers are appealing to supporters to only apply for tickets they will definitely use, given the expected high demand. A ticket transfer and cancellation system will remain open until midnight on Saturday, 19 July, allowing fans to return or transfer unused tickets.
Event Details
The fanzone will be fully ticketed and alcohol-free, with under-16s required to be accompanied by an adult. Supporters can bring their own food to the stadium, though glass bottles, alcohol, and cooking materials including disposable barbecues are prohibited. Refreshments will also be available on-site.
For accessibility, provision will be made for wheelchair users and those with additional needs. Anyone requiring closer vehicle access should contact [email protected]. While buggies and umbrellas are not permitted in the stadium, camping chairs are also prohibited.
Given the expected crowds, organisers recommend leaving cars at home where possible. Traffic management plans will mirror those used during regular match days, with several multi-storey car parks available in Cork city centre for those who prefer to park and walk or use public transport.
