Gardaí in Cork City took action yesterday afternoon after observing two teenagers riding on a single e-scooter in the middle of a busy public road.

The e-scooter was stopped by Gardaí and subsequently seized. The owner of the scooter received a €100 fine—€50 for carrying a passenger and €50 for the unauthorised addition of a seat.

This incident serves as a reminder that e-scooters must be operated in accordance with road safety laws. Gardaí continue to monitor such activity to ensure the safety of all road users.
