As part of ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in East Cork, Gardaí seized approximately €38,000 of suspected drugs and arrested a male yesterday, Friday 22nd November 2024.

Gardaí from the Cork County Divisional Drugs Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Youghal, Co. Cork last night at approximately 11:30pm.

During the course of the search, Gardaí seized suspected cannabis, cocaine and MDMA with an estimated total value of €38,000.

The seized substances, consisting of approximately €24,000 worth of cannabis, €8,000 cocaine and €6,000 MDMA are subject to further analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

A man, in his 30s, was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at a Garda station in Co. Cork under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Investigations are ongoing.
