As we move into the weekend and beyond, it seems we’re in for a week of unsettled weather conditions. The latest forecast predicts a mix of rain, showers, and some sunny spells, with temperatures remaining close to the April average.
For today, we can expect generally dry conditions with spells of hazy sunshine. Although there’s just a slight chance of an isolated light shower, it’s unlikely to spoil any outdoor plans. Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 11° to 14° C in moderate south to southeast winds, fresh at times in the west and southwest.
Tonight, it will start dry and partly cloudy, but there may be patches of drizzle later in the night. Temperatures will drop to lows of 4° to 8°C, with a light to moderate southeasterly breeze.
The pollen forecast for Friday and Saturday is moderate, so allergy sufferers should take precautions. On Saturday night, we can expect mostly cloudy conditions with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle, especially in the southwest. Temperatures will drop to lows of 6° to 10° C in a moderate southeasterly wind.
Moving onto Easter Sunday, the morning will be largely dry in the east with some sunshine, but the west will see outbreaks of rain and drizzle, which will spread eastwards across the country through the day. The rain will turn heavier in the west and southwest, and temperatures will reach highs of 10° to 13° C with a moderate to fresh south to southeast wind.
On Sunday night, the rain and cloud will clear eastwards, making way for clear spells and scattered showers. Temperatures will drop to lows of 5° to 8° C in a light south to southwest wind.
As we head into Monday, we can expect widespread showers with some sunny spells in between. Some of the showers may be heavy, with hail and thunder possible. Temperatures will reach highs of 9° to 12° C in a moderate to fresh and blustery southwest wind.
On Monday night, the showers will become confined to northern areas early on, but cloud will build from the southwest overnight, bringing patches of rain and drizzle to west and southwest coastal regions. Temperatures will drop to lows of 1° to 5° C, with light to moderate west to southwest winds, becoming southerly later.
The forecast for Tuesday is uncertain, but there is the potential for a spell of wet and windy weather. Looking ahead, the general outlook for the rest of the week is unsettled, with rain and showers expected to continue. So, make sure to keep your umbrella handy and stay tuned to the latest weather updates to plan your week accordingly.
